No Where Land (Open to all, the more that post the better the thread)

She frantically continued to try and beat the creature off Liran's back. He fell to his knees in pain as her attempts were in vain. The bug like monster seemed firmly latched on and as much as she tried to detach it. " Christ. " she said she tried hitting even harder with little regard to the fact she was in fact beating Liran with a large stick.

Then with surprising speed, she could see in the corner of her eye Ikra raising from the ground. Turning to face him her jaw dropped along the branch from her hand. Her mind and body froze as she tried to comprehend what was going in front of her. Words failed her as Ikra's arm changed into that of a bear or a monster. She stepped back from Liran no longer concerned about the creature that was leeching off of him and could only watch as claws from a furry arm ripped the creature away from Liran and then proceeded to kill it.

Her beady eyes shaking, stared at the two brothers. Her mind couldn't fathom what was going on with the shock of everything in the last twenty four hours. Instinctively going into fight or flight mode her only thought was to get away from them till she could figure out what the hell was going on. Her steps back were slow initially before she turned and broke out into a full on sprint into the densely wooded forest behind them. Her ribs protested and breathing was more difficult but she more then anything right now she wanted to be alone with her thoughts and get her head straight.

Her arms pushed through the wooden arms of the trees as she tried to put some distance between her and the brothers. Somehow the night seemed darker under the shadows of the trees which made it harder for her to navigate through the roots and shrubbery that would claw at her jeans. The only thing that protected her arms was the hoodie she had recovered earlier.

A yelp echoed around the forest as she was suddenly grabbed and hoisted over Ikra's shoulder. She struggled against him, not in fear but in frustration. " A shock! You call transforming your arm into a paw, a shock! " She sounded like she was scolding him as a mother would a child. " Now put me down Ikra. " she demanded, she wasn't going to be carried around by some cave man.

Gabby was furious as she was carried through the forest over Ikra's shoulder like a neanderthal. Liran, who no longer seemed to be under attack by the burrowing creature, had managed to catch up too. " Ikra put me down! " she protested along the way but her demands were falling on deaf ears. They seemed to have covered some ground before Ikra finally put her down. Finding her feet now on solid ground again, she looked at the two brothers.

She was angry but she was also fearful as she began her small rant. " Accepted? You want to be accepted? How about starting with the truth Ikra. What the hell are you.. you's? " her questioning was aimed at Ikra but towards the end she realized that whatever Ikra was, Liran probably was too and included him in the questioning. She would at least find out what the hell was going on with these brothers before making it back towards the plane and hopefully towards the rescue crews.

Gabby glared at Liran as he bit her head off. " You came after me Liran. So don't you be all high and mighty with me. " She was furious that Liran would throw back saving Ikra in her face. She had never once asked for gratitude or even thought twice about what she had done. She was not some damsel in distress as they were making her out to be and would not stand being spoken to that way.

Then Ikra intervened with his own smart comments but the affectionate pet name that her father used to use calmed her somewhat. " I'm not suggesting that we all sit around the camp fire and have heart to hearts but if you expect me to stay here and trust you guys I need something more then different. " She hadn't meant to be so harsh with the brothers in particular Ikra but right now nothing made sense and although she hid it she was scared of everything that was going on. " Show me? " she was clearly hesitant but curiosity was getting the better of her. Crossing her arms she stood in the dirt and looked rather defiantly at Ikra. " Ok then, show me. "

She knew she was making no friends here as Ikra frowned at her but she wasn't in the business of making friends. She had spent her whole working career finding out the truth about men and finding their dirty little secrets.

Her breathing increased and deepened as her anticipation grew. She wasn't sure what to expect next. Maybe, it was just his arm, maybe it was a hallucination brought on by trauma, maybe she was asleep on the plane and this was all some kind of lucid nightmare. But as Ikra moved away from her it soon started becoming clear that he was indeed different.

Her crossed arms fell limp to her side as her chest stopped moving, involuntarily holding her breath. Her stomach churned at the sound of his flesh ripping and the grotesque sight before her. She remained speechless as his transformation occurred changing from man to some kind of beast. She looked away as he cried in pain. " Oh god Ikra. " she mumbled biting on her bottom lip. Why on Earth someone would do this to themselves she didn't know.

She didn't look back afraid her stomach might heave there and then. But there was nothing she could do to block the sounds of breaking bones and Ikra's pain, almost bringing tears to her eyes. Only when she heard the awful sounds stop did she look back but Ikra was gone. What stood before her was now a wolf, a large one the largest she had ever seen. His eyes glowed as the rest of him appeared to also. She stared for a moment before finding her voice " Ikra? " she asked but it was a rhetorical question. Although she didn't know how, she knew it was Ikra.

" I.. I have to be alone. " she said actually talking to the wolf. She didn't even know if he understood her. She turned her back on him and began walking. She walked through the trees listening for any sounds around her but heard nothing only waves. Not knowing where else to go she thought the sound of the waves might lead her back to the beach.

Approaching the side of the cliff she found the beach, unfortunately there was a considerable descent down a very steep cliff to get to it. Looking out over the water she hoped to see something, a boat, a light anything but all she could see was the moons reflections. Sitting on the ground near the cliffs she sat her chin on her knees and stared out over the ocean trying to figure out what the hell was going on.

The sea air and starry night were calming Gabby's nerves as she sat. For the first few minutes she had expected Ikra and/or Liran to follow after her as they had before but she soon realized that they had left her to her own company. She was relieved initially to finally have some privacy and some space to think, to think about everything. She was questioning her whole life. She remembered her dad on the farm, how he would shoot at the wolves that tried to take their chickens, were they people too? Sighing she didn't know what to feel or think. Part of her was scared of what Ikra was and what he had gone through but then he had helped her with her foot, even Liran had helped her despite his apparent disdain for her. She ran her hands through her hair in frustration, not knowing what to do.

As she sat there quietly engrossed in her own thoughts, an unknown danger had been stalking her. Stealthy the large black cat prowled staying hidden in the shadows. It's teeth glistened as it reflected the moon, anticipating it's kill. It's large paws dug into the ground slowly approaching.

*Crack* Gabby's head whipped around to her left expecting to see one of the brothers. Instead she saw a predator and she couldn't help but feel like the prey. Rising slowly from the ground she kept her arms out in an attempt to keep the cat calm but as it snarled at her she realized that the cat was out to kill. She took a few steps back as the cat lowered its body preparing to pounce. Rocks began to fall down the cliff as her foot reached the edge and she could go no further. Looking over her shoulder down the cliff to the crashing waves, she looked back at the cat. Trembling she could only think to do one thing, shout. " Ikra! "

Standing between the steep cliff and an all out cat and dog fight, Gabrielle was trapped. Ikra, although she had walked away, had come to her aid almost instantly. As fearful as she was, she suddenly felt guilty. He hadn't hesitated to help her any of the times she needed aid and this time was no different. She yelped as Ikra and the cat tore chunks out of each other. She would step forward and retract with each of their moves unsure as to whether to help or not but she knew that she was useless against a large cat like that.

" Ikra. " she cried out as the cat clamped down on his bad leg. But now the cats attention was focused on her again. Her eyes darted from the whimpering Ikra to the ferocious feline. She wondered that if she ran quick enough if she could get to him before the cat pounced but the cat had grown impatient and wanted to end its hunt with a kill.

She was like a deer in headlights as the cat came at her knowing she had no where to go. Instinctively she lowered herself to the ground making herself a smaller target for the cat. Her eyes strayed to Ikra and to her horror she saw him against the odds propelling himself up and against the cat. " No! " she shouted as she realised what would happen.

Then silence overwhelmed her. " Ikra! Ikra! " she shouted as she scrambled to look over the edge of the cliff, tears running down her face. She had barely registered Liran's arrival and she didn't look back until he had come closer. " There was... this cat and it.. it.. oh god, Ikra! " She couldn't see anything in the pitch black except some of the white foam forming at the bottom of the cliff. " Liran, can you see him? Tell me you can see him. " she pleaded hoping beyond hope that there was still a chance for Ikra.

“What....” he hissed dropping down to lie flat on the ground at the edge of the cliff, he didn't care to think if there could be more then one of them out there, flattening himself he squinted down into the darkness, never had he cursed night so much, he strained hearing nothing but the waves crashing against the rocks.
Gripping the rocks until his fingers bled Liran pushed himself up pacing back and forth for a few moments scanning the side to see if there would be anyway down other then free falling, something which he was starting to consider.
“Show me exactly where he fell” he peered over to her waiting, “I need to know” if he could tell where he slipped he had hope of finding him, as long as Ikra fell fairly straight.


He seemed to fall for an age the cat plummeting past him as Ikra's body caught one, then another then another of the rocks, each one slamming into him like a thousand barb wire covered sledge hammers knocking the air from his lungs and all sense from his head.
He didn't scream or roar, the ability to seeming to fail him his limbs flailing out their wolven claws despairingly trying to grip hold of anything.
Until abruptly he stopped a his body meeting a ledge with a thud, close enough to the water to feel the spray of it Ikra gasped for breath finding himself unable to move, unable to do anything, pain the only sensation he had.
He drifted in and out of wakefulness though he stayed conscious until he heard something, faint voices, he tried to respond at first a pitiful whine the only thing he could manage until he gradually drew in more air allowing him to growl a little louder hoping it would give his position away.

Gabby was kneeling far to close to the edge but concern for her own safety hadn't even entered her mind. " Ikra, can you hear me? " she continued to shout down the cliff. She was trying to convince herself that Ikra couldn't answer her while he was like a wolf, wolves did not speak at least none she knew.

Liran, unlike her, was somehow managing to keep somewhat calm. Although his anxious pacing was only increasing her worry. " I .. I was here so I think he ... " she swallowed hard trying hard to hold back the tears. " Over there, I think he fell over there. " she muttered pointing off to her right just north east of her position. " You can change too right? Can you see him.. I mean wolves have better senses right? " her knowledge was entirely based on some bad horror movies she had seen in her time but then who knew was real and not anymore. " Tell me you can see him Liran. " she was desperate for him to say something not wanting Ikra's death to be on her hands. He was right when he said she couldn't survive out here on her own but her pride had caused all this and it was eating her up inside.

As Liran began searching down the cliffs, Gabrielle couldn't help but notice Liran's eyes glowing in the dark. She inhaled deeply and held her breathe in case her breathing would somehow distract Liran. She only exhaled again when Liran finally said he could see him. " Oh thank god. " she said almost breathless. She squinted trying to see if she could spot him but still she saw nothing. Liran called out to his brother and then left hardly giving her a chance to speak. " Liran.... " she called out wanting an explanation but he had already gone. " It's ok Ikra, we're coming to get you. Just. just hang on ok. " she called out over the waves trying to offer him some comfort. She didn't know when Liran would be back but she hoped it would be soon, she didn't know how long Ikra would last on the side of the cliff.

The time that passed seemed like eternity before Liran finally returned. " Liran, what are you doing? " she asked as Liran started throwing down pieces of belts down the side of the cliff. He never answered her and instead burdened her with a task. She looked at the make shift rope and then down the cliff as he asked her. The tears suddenly dried and her jaw tightened. " If you drop me Liran I swear I will haunt you. "

Not delaying in case she lost her courage, she held the make shift rope and leaned over the edge. She thanked god she went on that adventure weekend in college and learned how to ab-sail. " You got me? " she asked and then nodded to indicate she was ready to go. Taking a leap of faith she took her first step down the cliff and her first step towards Ikra.

Step by step she made progress down the steep cliff. Slowly at first but she gradually picked up her pace as she grew more confident. But as she could finally make out the shape of a wolf on the ledge, the rocks under her feet grew wet and slippy. She had to take her time but mere feet away from him she lost her footing before she was able to regain it again. " I'm coming Ikra. " she called out as slowly she reached the ledge.

Dropping to her knees straight away her hands ran down Ikra's neck and back. " It's ok Ikra, we are going to get you off of here. " she said close to his ears as they were beaten by waves. Unfortunately the waves were not enough to wash the blood from her hands that she had wiped from his body. Carefully she tied the rope around his body in a harness like fashion. Insuring he was secure she had to cling to the rope to stop herself from being washed out to sea. She tugged on the rope twice and called out to Liran. " Pull him up Liran. " She knew Liran expected to pull two bodies up but it was safer this way and Ikra needed help more then she did.

She watched Ikra travel upwards for as long as she could before her eyes failed her and the waves battered her. She held onto a jagged rock as the waves threatened to knock her from the ledge. She hoped that Ikra would reach the top safely and that Liran wouldn't leave her stranded on this ledge to die.

To her relief it wasn't to long before the rope reappeared. Grabbing it, her climb up was much more treacherous. She was soaking wet, her hands trembled with the cold, the rocks were just as slippery and she was succumbing to exhaustion. Although slower then she had wanted she finally made it to the top of the cliff. Dragging herself over the top she lay flat on the solid ground, her body aching and her breathing deep and quick. But she only lay there for a moment as her head turned to the side and saw Ikra's laying there. Crawling along the ground to exhausted to walk she made her way over to Ikra's side. She gently placed her hand on his back and looked at Liran " He's going to be ok right? " she asked hoping their efforts weren't in vain.

Watching Liran check his brother over she started stroking his thick coat to offer him some comfort. His fur was now more red then white and she was still trying to wrap her mind around the fact that this wolf was the same man she had pulled from the plane.

Her lips and eyes trembled as she looked at the creature before her. She had been on the farm long enough to know when an animal was close to death, her father would never let them suffer for long. But Ikra was different, he healed differently so maybe given sometime he would heal like his leg had.

Looking at Liran his pain was clear to her and she actually felt sorry for him. Nodding as he spoke she reached over to his hand and placed it over Lirans. " Tell me what I can do Liran. "

Liran hadn't expected her offer of comfort and to be honest she had surprised herself. Her eyes fell back to Ikra as he spoke. Her hand was now stroking fur and then parts of flesh. She gently squeezed in a last ditch effort to get through to him before she removed her hand, now stained a light shade of red from the blood. "" Have you seen any streams or anything? "" the question sent a flurry of memories and sounds through her mind. " Earlier, after Ikra ... changed I thought I heard water in the distance. Not the waves but something else, it sounded strong maybe a river." she couldn't say for sure what she had heard was correct as she only heard it in passing but surely it was worth a shot.

She slowly rose against her muscles aching complaints and watched Liran pick up his brother. ' Damn, how strong are thses guys?' she thought to herself hoping that Ikra was just as strong and could pull through this. " Sure, I think I can remember the general area I heard it. I mightn't be able to pinpoint it though. After all I am only human. " she made the not so subtle dig at Liran as she began to walk away from the cliffs edge confident he would follow. It was one thing to be able to change into a creature of some kind, it was another to be a prick about it.
